Receive God's Warm Love Through Reflection

Selfless giving

on January 27, 2013

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5

Jesus is our savior. He’s given us a new life, one of love, meaning,  forgiveness, and hope. He gave up so much for nothing in return, he died without sinning at all.

When you do something selflessly for someone without no one knowing and without expecting anything in return, that is when God smiles down at you. We shouldn’t give or donate or help people if we feel like we need the praise or a gift in return. We should be doing the selfless deed joyfully and humbly. If you are complaining about volunteering or complaining about the money you’ll give up, don’t do it at all. It is hypocritical of you to help yet act like a scrooge. What would Jesus do? Do something beautiful simply because you want to help.

Jesus is the ultimate example of selfless giving. Thank God for Jesus and his sacrifice. May we likewise be a blessing for others, giving without expecting anything else.
