Receive God's Warm Love Through Reflection

A benediction

on June 7, 2013

At the end of worship service, we chant the benediction. According to wikipedia, “a benediction (Latin: bene, well + dicere, to speak) is a short invocation for divine help, blessing and guidance, usually at the end of worship service.”

This is the one we speak:

“Let there be peace, joy, love, out in the world today. Let it flow out, touch everyone, may it begin in me. Amen”

I’m always remembering this throughout the week, to lift me up and remind myself to be loving to those around me. It’s a wonderful imagery of the love flowing out of our spirit to touch those around us. God lives within us and is the source of peace, joy, and love, and we are the ones that need to spread it to everyone around us. The peace, joy, and love in the world beings with us! Our self!

Remember this as you go about your day, in your workplace, in the community, and at home. Ask for guidance and blessing through this benediction, and practice to be peaceful, joyful, and loving.
