Job, a man of faith

on July 25, 2013

The book of Job is an insightful read about having faith in God. With hardships and worries, Job still focused on God. He maintained his trust in God and called on Him for understanding and strength.

“In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.” (Job 1:1)

“The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised. In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.” (Job 1:21-22)’

““But if I were you, I would appeal to God; I would lay my cause before him….The lowly he sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.” (Job 5:8,11)

“Yet if you devote your heart to him and stretch out your hands to him, if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent, then, free of fault, you will lift up your face; you will stand firm and without fear. You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by. Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning. You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety.” (Job 11:13-18)

“The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.” (Job 28:28)
