Connection, not competition

on January 30, 2014

Today I read a post that included the words “connection, as opposed to competition”, and I thought this was a great phrase to think about.

Humans are social people. If we all focused on connection versus competition than I think we could get alot more good accomplished. Instead of working against people in a competition, why not connect together and create something twice as good? When we work with each other instead of against, we can create some beautiful things and bring good to others.

How does this relate to you on a daily level? Firstly, when you exercise in your week, why not do it with your partner or friend and connect with them that way? Push and motivate each other during the exercise while spending quality time. Secondly, if you have a task that you are working on, why not connect with someone to help you out? Even if you don’t feel like you need help, I’m sure you’d get fresh and insightful advice. For instance, my sister and I both enjoy baking and we connect with each other when we need advice or input about something we are trying out in the kitchen.

I like it when the community holds a charity event where people can connect and come together to exercise or bake, for instance, but it’s all in for the fun and for helping out others.

So remember to connect with those around you!
