Receive God's Warm Love Through Reflection

The Jeremiah tree

on March 21, 2014

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” -Jeremiah 17:7-8

Fear, worry, troubles, failure, loss, pain, infertility, weakness, emptiness…these are all things that we are tempted to feel. But God tells us otherwise.

Jeremiah tells us that we can be just like a strong, beautiful, healthy, vibrant tree, if only we trust in God. What a magnificent image! A tree from nature symbolizes growth, beauty, peace, simplicity, wonder, life, joy. It’s something nurtured and cared for, that blossoms into something mature and majestic, pure and natural. Nature is so breathtaking!

Let us find sanctuary, peace, and joy by dwelling with God. He is our answer. God will protect us from all harm and will fill our life with meaning. His love and power surrounds us daily to overcome life’s struggles. He has a plan for us and will provide for us all that we need.

Be strong in the Lord and never give up hope! Let God work in you; trust in Him so that you, like the tree, may grow into the Christian He wants you to be.

(I thought that this post also had a nice reflection on Jeremiah 17:7-8. Enjoy!)
