Receive God's Warm Love Through Reflection

Rejuvenate your relationships

on June 20, 2014

This past weekend, my fiance and I completed an engagement photo session with our lovely photographer. She incorporated techniques for a “Beloved Session“, which ” is an exploration and celebration of relationships. It’s different than a typical photo session that involves posing and backdrops. A beloved session involves spending time with your partner, your family, or even yourself or friends, exploring your relationships, talking, thinking, feeling, and honoring your connections.” (quote from Becky Green Photos)

It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on past moments in our relationship as well as talk and explore our feelings with each other. For example, as we posed hugging each other, we had to reflect on when we first fell in love and our feelings for each other. For another pose holding hands, we focused on our future kids; if they saw this photo thirty years from now, they would see how much we love them and how much joy we have in our hearts for them. For fun reflection, as the photographer took photos, we would talk to each other about moments that we were proud of our partner or moments that made us laugh. We would discuss what makes each other happy or a talent of our partner’s that we wish we had. Fun and sweet reflections.

After this experience, it made me realize how important it is to keep your relationships strong and healthy. Even if it means just keeping a routine, such as giving a light kiss in the morning or holding each other’s hands while walking outside. Any little way to keep your connection and to give a little more love. I think it would be even romantic and heartwarming every-so-often to answer these type of questions, that we had at the beloved session, just at home cuddling on the couch. A good therapeutic way to open up your feelings and reflect on your memories with each other.

Rejuvenate your connection with your loved one and keep your love strong!
