The Bible shows us how to be hospitable and helpful to our neighbors. Why not practice that in your own community? When someone asks for a favor, when someone is looking for a place to stay the night, or when someone is in need of some food, why not reach out your hand and heart to them?
“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” – Philippians 2:4
“Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.” – Proverbs 22:9
“Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.” – Matthew 5:42
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:12-13
“And he answered, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.’” – Luke 10:27
“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” – Acts 20:35
As followers of Christ, let us provide hospitality, care, and love to those around us.
