“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” -Ephesians 2:10 (NASB)
Worksmanship comes from the Greek word “poiema”, meaning poem.
What this mean?
Originally, when I think of workmanship, I think of it as a basic, serious meaning, that we must do God’s work and follow His will. He’s the boss.
But thinking about “poem”, it makes me see workmanship more beautifully. It has a softer, gentler feeling. God is the creator, creating works of beauty within us, writing our own unique poem, making beautiful stories in life. And though he is the boss, we are significant, we are personally known by God and taken care of.
No matter what, God is at work in your life, writing something beautiful, and unfolding your purpose. Like a poem that flows and moves, our lives are being transformed day by day.
Your life is a poem in God’s eyes!
